About the Archive
The Odd Archive collects true stories that sound invented.
A pope exhumed and put on trial. Factory workers who glowed in the dark on the walk home. A wave of syrup that killed twenty-one people. Each is documented, verifiable, and strange enough that most people assume it is a myth. We open one file at a time.
What we cover
- Dark History Documented events from the historical record that read as fiction.
- Money & the Mind The measurable, repeatable ways human judgement misfires around money.
- Scale of the Universe Physical facts about time and distance that are true and still difficult to believe.
How a file is made
Each file begins as a researched script: a claim, the record it rests on, and the detail that makes it land. Narration is synthesised, imagery is drawn from licensed stock footage and public-domain archives — NASA's image library and public-domain material on Wikimedia Commons — and the result is assembled, checked and published by our own studio software.
We say this plainly: the voice is synthetic and the production is automated. The research is not. Where a file states a number, a date or a quotation, it comes from the public record.
